The VMC Explorer is a high-performance 244cc racing cylinder for Vespa PX 200 and other Vespa Largeframe engines based on the 200cc engine. With a 72mm bore and 60mm stroke, the aluminium cylinder provides substantially more displacement than the original PX 200 cylinder.

The cylinder has a Nikasil-coated bore and features 7 transfer ports. Its port layout is designed for a broad power band with high torque, rather than being focused exclusively on very high engine speeds.

The VMC Explorer is designed for a long-rod crankshaft. Depending on the crankshaft used, a connecting rod length of approximately 126mm or longer is required.

Installation

The VMC Explorer is not a plug-and-play replacement for the original PX 200 cylinder. Due to its larger cylinder base, the engine casing must be machined accordingly.

The cylinder base is approximately 76mm in diameter and 8mm deep. A steel machining template is included to assist with modifying the engine casing.

Fits Vespa PX 200

The VMC Explorer 244 is designed for the 200cc Vespa Largeframe engine family, including Vespa P 200 E, PX 200 and PX 200 Lusso. It is also used on Cosa 200 and Rally 200 engines.
